Many practitioners with only 100 hours of acupuncture training may shy away from treating children with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM); however adding these treatment into your toolbelt will only accelerate the healing done in your office.   This course is designed to open the possibilities of how to treat children in the TCM lens and how to identify imbalances in their bodies to best formulate a TCM treatment plan. 

Learning Objectives:
  • Understanding children in the TCM Model.
  • Assessing the necessary steps in taking a good TCM history for children.
  • Define characteristics of the five elements in children: wood, fire, earth, metal and water.

About Kris Tohtz, DC, DABCA, LAc, Cert.MDT, CACCP, IFMCP

Dr. Kris Tohtz is a dual licensed Chiropractic Physician and Acupuncturist with an ACA Diplomate in Acupuncture. She is a trained post-partum doula, has completed an advanced certification in Pregnancy and Pediatric care through the ICPA, and is the ACA Pediatrics Council Diplomate Educational Co-Coordinator, winning Chiropractor of the Year 2023 from the Council. She is certified in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy and earned a certification in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM).


She has been teaching continuing education for 22+ years on the topics of acupuncture, dry needling, pregnancy, nutrition, and pediatric care. She has served the ACA Acupuncture Council in all positions for over 10 years. She is the owner and lead clinician at Serenity Family Wellness, a managing partner at Fusion Care, LLC, and is a Chiropractic Physician and practicing Acupuncturist though the Veteran Administration at Post St. Lucie, Florida.
