Although many companies market orthotics to healthcare practitioners, there exists a great lack of understanding of medical necessity and the clinical use of these devices.
Further, there is a paucity of training to implement effective orthotic strategies other than in the trained professions—podiatry, the orthotist and pedorthic programs. As a result many providers order generic orthotics (even the term orthotic is itself generic) with no appropriate examination, diagnosis or goal in mind for the patients presenting condition.
In this one-hour free training, we will introduce concepts pertaining to the medical necessity and clinical indications for orthotic prescription.
Join us on Tuesday, January 25th at 2pm EST and learn:
  • The process involved in truly custom foot orthoses
  • The difference between a 3D, volumetric cast and 2D methods and how this impacts the finished device
  • The truth about the marketing and myths that entice doctors to buy generic brands. Caveat emptor!
